The arrangement of controls on the screens of the Motif ES and the MO are similar. Both the ES and the MO are somewhat like the Motif classic. The hierarchy of modes/functions on the XS and XF are almost identical to the ES, but the screens are arranged quite differently. Starting with the XS, Yamaha switched from an old and small monochrome display to a large color LCD panel, which required that the arrangement of screens be altered. The XF interface is almost identical to the XS. Most XS accessibility notes are valid for the XF. However, ES notes are only a help to users of the MO and the classic. Greg arrow down once and right arrow, I tried tapping the sf6 button three times, that didn't work, I tried hitting the numbers where the tracks re, that didn't work for me either. I wonder if it's different on the xf8. That's not the moddel you have is it? ----- Original Message ----- From: Greg Steel<mailto:greegstelii@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2011 8:15 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Motif help? Hi Greg here is what to do. 1. arrow down once and right arrow once and you will be on the time signature. Here is a little tip press utility and press f3 and you can turn on the click. Their is 2 options one is hearing the click constant and the other is only when you press play. The first is when you press play and the second is the other. You can also turn off the pattern if you accidentally turn the key sink on by hitting stop. From pattern mode I arrowed over 4 times from the top and that is where it is. ----- Original Message ----- From: Greg Brayton<mailto:Greg@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2011 3:21 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Motif help? Boy Greg I can't tell you how much I'd appreciate that. I'm afraid to mess around to much, don't wanta mess anything up. I did some arrowing arround, before I finally figured out how to set my pattern length, and at one point, I hit any key and triggered the start of the pattern, the only way I could get that to stop was to shut off the motif, and even that didn't work the first time. Wow. ----- Original Message ----- From: Greg Steel<mailto:greegstelii@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2011 1:40 AM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Motif help? How do I change the time signature to 3 4? Or anything other than 4 4? I tried tapping the sf6 key 3 times, but that doesn't get it done.
