Greetings Jim,
Before I help you, although some probably did, I would like to know if you
found a solution to resolve the glitch upon arming an audio track on SONAR.
To answer your question, if I understand, you would like to play live with an
accessible keyboard. Your main instruments are the organ (electric or pipe),
the synths, and possibly the piano. If you are a classical pianist, the 76-key
model shall work for music from the Baroque to the early romantic eras.
However, to perform anything, classically, an 88-key electronic keyboard as in
the intro to Edvard Grieg's piano concerto in A minor, opus 16, that uses the
whole keyboard for the 19th century (missing three keys for today's piano and a
number of electronic keyboards). And the pedals should be needed for some
romantic music that I already know with Braille, one of which includes "Für
Elise" by Ludwig van Beethoven.
Concerning your choice, the Roland VR-Combo series of audio interfaces may
respond to your needs, except for their menu options. As for the instruments
for the software, do you mean that it is somehow difficult to recognize their
timber, because on a low-quality synthesizer, identifying the patches is
sometimes difficult or impossible, due to the chiptunes (8-bity square wave). I
also should add that it is fine to choose what you want, as an artist, but God
is the biggest before anything else in this temporary world. Momento mori
(remember death) as God alone is eternal and on him you will return for the
Judgment Day.
Thank you for understanding.
Adel

Objet : [ddots-l] Seeking new keyboard advice
Greetings all,
I perform on various instruments but am looking into learning to play keys. To
that end, I am seeking advice on which keyboards offer good accessibility, or
good workarounds that others may have developed.
My interest is primarily in organ and synth, but piano will also be important.
My focus is on live performance and improvisation as opposed to constructing
music in the studio.
I have looked at the Roland VR-Combo series and they seem to provide what I
want. The only issue seems to be in making the menu screen accessible. Roland
suggested using Ctrlr, but after looking at it I don't know how accessible that
software might be or if there are other instruments that might offer a better
user interface.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Jim
