I like to let people know things, because I expect the same.

We have 2 projects on the table here:

1 is a full album being manufactured by Disc Makers. I have yet to have problems with them, still waiting...

The other is a single being manufactured by Nation Wide Disc. From what I have Seen, stay away from these guys.

Like most plants, they seem nice at first. They put on that good-oal-boy Texas draw when you call, and treat you like your next of kin. After you send them masters and artwork, and pay them, its a different storrie...

The 6 day promised turn time has grown to 18 days on this project. Its supposed to be 6 business days from the time you approve art proofs, but it aint.

So far, I have received an email which states the ship date will be January 5th, and another email later the same day saying the ship date will be Jan 7th. In the coarse of 2 hours, the shipping time has expanded by another 2 days...

Keep in mind, they had the master and artwork for 9 days, and an approval for the art work proof for 8 days... Its a little bit reminiscent of my experiences with Oasis...

Anyone care to comment on Disc Makers? I can still pull that project off the table and do business with another plant.. I haven't heard many complaints about Disc Makers, but my expectations from any replicator aren't to high.

The only replicater that I have done business with who has done everything they said they would do, when they say they would do it, is CRT. They have a slow turn time though.

Disc Makers is advertising 10 day turn time at no additional cost, but that's probably like Nation Wide and there 6 day... I think no matter what a plant tells you, your still looking at 20/30 days to get product back...

I played it smart with Disc Makers and uploaded a DDP master and artwork. So they can't use any excuses about receiving anything in the mail in a timely fashion... So the 10 day turn time, should be more like 12 days after they send artwork proofs, tack on another 3 days for shipping, and 4 days for the weekends, and your up to 19 days...

Oh well, what do you do?

Shawn
