Hi,

Just a idea. I recommend you to first use the free software C-cleaner, and check if it improves the laptop processment.

I could be wrong but i suppose that the problem isnt root to the ram, though could be part of it.

i dont no about ITunes, but with winamp per example, My pc as 3 gb of ram, and i have playlists of 40 gb playing all day at my work. i dont no if exists any limit cause it never shutdown or crash. If you say that your laptop as 2 gb of ram, probably it's 2 rams of 1 gb ietch. I advice you to expand not more than one, change 1 to a 2gb ram, less expensive, and you get 3 gb of ram. Start this way, step by step, maybe this solution resolves your issue.

best regards,
Rui Vilarinho

Subject: [ddots-l] OT iTunes, jaws and laptop RAM

Hi all sorry for this OT message, if there is another mailing list
more sutable for this question please let me know and I'll take it
there.
To make extra money I play music at weddings, birthday parties etc. I
use itunes on my laptop and have a huge collection of music. While
playing music for a while while browsing through the music adding
songs to playlists and reshuffling playlists my laptop or jaws starts
lagging a lot and the only solution to this is to restart it, closing
itunes doesn't even help. Do you think this is RAM related and will it
be solved if I put 4 GB ram in the laptop? It currently has 2 GB ram,
I can't remember if it can take 64 bit windows but with 4 GB ram I'd
at least be able to use 3.2 of the 4 GB. If not nececery I don't want
to really put in more ram so please give me your thoughts.
