Dear All, Now is the time to think about making a presentation at CSUN next March. The call for papers opens September 1 (see below). If you have used GOODFEEL and related technology in your work, study or leisure time, why not propose a session to tell attendees of the conference what you have done? What has worked for you and what has not? What do you recommend to others based on the benefit of your own experience? Have you taught braille music to others? How have you taught it? Have you used Richard Taesch's courses. You can present on your own or with a colleague, parent or student. If you like, contact me off-list at my info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx address to discuss ways we might co-present on some aspect of access to music notation and technology. Or maybe you plan to present on your own but you'd like me to review a draft of your paper. I'm here to help you. BTW, "presenting a paper" may sound rather formal and academic and may seem like a daunting process. It actually is not so hard. You just write up an abstract or summary of what you plan to talk about. Imagine what you would say if you had the chance to tell a few people about something you have learned or some teaching technique you have developed. It's really just that simple. You stand up and tell people about it. OK, go to <http://www.csunconference.org/> http://www.csunconference.org to learn more. The Call for Papers will open on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 and will close on Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Visit http://www.csunconference.org for more information about the Call for Papers and the 2011 CSUN Conference. We encourage you to review the information carefully as some submission procedures have changed, as well as an important session type for the General Sessions at the conference. We also want to take this opportunity to let you know about two exciting pieces of news regarding the Call for Papers. First, we are honored to announce that Michael Paciello, founder and president of The Paciello Group, will Chair the 2011 Program Committee. Mike has been a long-time associate of the CSUN Conference and is currently serving his second term as a member of the Conference Advisory Council. Mike's experience as an international leader and technologist, with a dedication to stimulating education and research that ensure equality of access to information, will be assets to his new role as the 2011 Program Chair. Second, we want to call your attention to a new category in the Call for Papers - "Emerging Assistive Technology" which should be of great interest to our constituency. Suggested subjects include Brain-Computer Interfaces, Human Robotics Interaction, Advanced Prosthetic Devices and Environmental Control Access. We look forward to receiving papers from researchers, technology experts, futurists and innovators to help us launch this vital new category! The 2011 CSUN Conference will be held March 14-19 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego, California.
