Hi Robin.

Pro Tools accessibility is far from complete. Currently, there aren't any
notes/tips on how to use it if you're blind, and there aren't any tutorials or
podcasts to help you out. It is an exceedingly complex program, even if you can
have access to it all, which we, as blind people, don't. Some determined blind
people are trying to use it, in spite of the frustrations, but many of them are
focused on using it because they need it for work, and thus have extremely full
professional lives that make it impossible for them to spend lots of time
creating free notes and podcasts.

Sorry, but this is the state of Pro Tools at the moment.

Bryan

Subject: [ddots-l] Pro Tools frustration...

Hi all,
well, I'm robin and I just subscribed to this list! My experience with audio /
music editing is currently limited, I haven't done too much that goes beyond
recording and editing on Windows. I've migrated to Mac OS long time ago and
would like to start working with audio properly. Therefore, I've purchased Pro
Tools 8 LE. The installation and hooking up the MBox Mini interface went
through smoothly, but then problems begun. I wanted to work my way through the
Pro Tools intro manual. My problems begin when trying to, for example, import a
song using the Workspace: unlabelled UI controls, no help tags and probably
lots of invisible stuff. Same for the transport / editing controls I guess, and
I'm really not sure where I should get started. Is there anything like an
accessibility guide for Pro Tools? Are there, maybe, any podcasts demonstrating
PT with VoiceOver? Or, is there anyone who would be willing to help me get
started, possibly during a Skype session?
Thanks for any help!!!
