Hi, it's Annabelle.
When I make an .sfz file, there's one thing that really confuses me. When I
want to define a pitch bend range, I want to be able to have the instrument
bend even when there's only two pitch wheel commands on one note. In other
words, I don't want to hear just the two resultant notes, but I would
actually want to hear a smooth glide from the start note to the end note.
How would I define that for the pitch wheel in the .sfz file? What do I do
next?
Here are some audio examples of the pitch bend wheel problems I'm having.
I'll be sending these via the Cakewalk Dropbox. The first one is what I
don't want to hear, which is the notes without a smooth bend. The second one
is the notes I do want to hear, with a smooth bend. The third is the MIDI
file which is the source of the pitch bend commands. The one without a
smooth bend was made with Cakewalk TTS1, the one with the smooth bend was
made with a third party set of samples within Kontakt 4. By the way, The
MIDI file was first notated in Sibelius 5, then exported as a Standard MIDI
Type 1 file, and then imported into Sonar. Look carefully at the pitch wheel
commands, and tell me if there's something I might be doing wrong.
