[ddots-l] Question: puzzling metronome hesitation

List, I plead,

Every now and then, and sometimes more now than then, intermittently, while in play and record modes, my metronome click will hesitate for an instant, and then resume.  Once I establish a solid, recorded rhythm, I turn off the metronome and the oddity does not occur.  However, while recording, sometimes the metronome hesitates, which throws everything off and embarrasses me in front of my studio mates.

I push F6 after loading a project and even while a project is loaded.  Still, it may occur.  I even pulled the wi fi usb thing out of my computer, thinking that a drop in router connectivity might cause the computer to scramble and reassign usb jacks. Hesitation still might happen.

The kicker is that sometimes, some days, the hesitation doesn't happen at all.  Does any one have any clue?

Thanks.
