I believe he means the CakeTalking tutorial. Honestly, it is meant
for beginners, or at least it assumes you don't know a lot about
this stuff. Don't let it scare you.
as for definitions of unfamiliar terms, you can always ask here, or
google for a definition, or for a glossary of audio related terms etc.
