I haven't played around so much with the new free amp 3 but I know that there
is a way to swich off the compressor. I use to play work with those amps in the
track inspector and there you find something called reasign controll. there you
will have many controlls that you can play around with and build your own sound.

I played around with freeamp3 a bit last night. It was accessable, but it
sounded quite digital to me. When I turned down the volume on the guitar a bit,
I couldnt have much sustain at all. First you heard the tone and then it was
like pressing the stop key on something you recorded. Is it possible to switch
off its compression?
Otherwise, Simulanalogs Gsuite is great. It's half accessable, but it
responds more like a real amp than many plugins that you have to buy. I also
use Gearbox from Line6 which is great for metal souunds.
