Couple of things you can do. 1: if you haven't already, boot your PC with the
FW-1884 turned off. if Jaws says that it needs authorising, do that. Then,
unload Jaws and turn your FW-1884 on. Reload Jaws and see what happens. If
that authorisation thing comes up then, you may need to reauthorize Jaws again.
If not then, you should be good to go. With regard to getting a dongle, you
don't want to do that as your running an audio machine. The dongle will pole
your system several times every minute checking that your still authorised. I
would personally try and get them to alter your licence to an international
one. Note: this issue is known to FSI and we have provided all of the
information requested from them to fix this. Whether they do or not, is down
to them. This issue occurs with products that use Frontier Design drivers such
as the FW-1884 and the Tranzport.

Subject: [ddots-l] Some trouble I've noticed

I get in accurate info from caketalking 8 more often than I did with seven.
Tells me I'm on an instrument track even when I haven't truned any soft synths
in to instrument tracks. Thinks sometimes that my audio tracks are instrument
tracks most often, but will also confuse the midi from time to time. Usually
once with the up and down arrow straightens it out temporarily. I've had to
close and reopen to get sonar 8 to skip to the correct columns, even after f6 a
couple times, it says sorry, try again. I tried turning the board on and off to
get the sonar to fully close after I go to the task manager and try to end
task. This didn't work for me. Maybe it's cause my midi is the FW18-84. I know
that's more aof a sonar bug than a caketalking problem. I also still have the
issue about one out of every 10 times, jaws will say it needs activation. I
restart the computer, and it seems to be ok, doesn't ask to be activated, but I
wonder what that's all about. I know some others with the FW have had this
trouble, but when I asked for an international licence they acted like that was
a major problem. They wanta sell me a dongle. Maybe I need to insist on the
licence?
