That error could be cause by so many things, that without a detailed look at a system, it's even hard to even try and suggest solutions, but here we go: First, check and make sure your windows installation is good, meaning no corrupt files or libraries. Also, check for malware and viruses. Allot of people like to argue that their systems are clean just because they don't go online or because they have this or that protection suite, but when the system is checked, it many times comes up with something. So never assume that you are virus/malware free, check, with various scanners if possible. Also, check your hardware, is everything working properly? Are your hard drives error free? Get a demo of HDTune Pro and check your drives, specially your main system drive for errors (don't rely on windows disk checker). Check system temperatures and check your RAM for errors as well. Do you have the latest version of Sonar installed, by that I mean latest updates for your version. Did you install sonar properly (all libraries like visual studio and such are installed properly, and were not subsequently removed?) If you installed sonar from physical media, was it clean? Do you have third party bloatware (extra programs that are not necessary for the running of the computer) on the system? Are all drivers up to date and compatible? What third party plug-ins have you installed in sonar? That's just a small check list, and each answer greatly impacts the next question and what steps you might have to take to resolve. What do you guys think? I am having similar problems, am interested in finding out what the solutions to this problem are. We've had our computer serviced at the store where we purchased it with a lifetime service program and it still shuts down when opening sonar. What now is a big question for me too!
