Wonderful! Any chance of our going to a link somewhere to hear samples
of these?

Best regards,

Subject: [ddots-l] Students use SONAR for composition competition

Good morning,

Each year, my studio holds a Piano Olympics for students wishing to take
part in a piano competition. There are various events, but the high
point is probably the Composition Division, in which students compose an
original piece which is evaluated by a judge. This year, twelve
students took part, and they all used SONAR to create their musical
works. The results range from the humorous or spooky to the truly
beautiful. The students ranged in age from 7 to 17 and ran the gamut
from beginners to advanced.

This year's Composer of the Year was a 9-year-old who created a piece
for koto, shakuhachi, oboe, vibes, percussion and synthesizer. We're
all looking forward to what she and others will compose next year.
