No, that is a good idea, but the operative word is "slightly" If you can actually hear the delay between the two, then it is too much.

I'm going to be taking a from-the-board recording of a live concert and merging it with a binaural recording from an Edirol r-09 with Core-sound binaural mikes. I want the board for punch and the R-09 for ambience.I'm thinking that I'm going to want the r-09 recording to be just slightly behind the board content to simulate the delay caused by distance. Am I smoking something illegal with that thought?Christopher Bartlett At 07:52 AM 5/18/2007, you wrote:Christopher:I have taken two recordings, one done with a plextalk and one recorded directly into Sonar, and synced them up to get the ambience from the plextalk recording. The only way I have done it is to edit the external recording to get it close, then nudge itg. It does take a bit of close listening and experimentation because if you are a little bit off you'll get some weird phasing problems etc.Gord----- Original Message ----- From: "William R. Not sure how helpful that answer is but at least you know it's doable(smile)! I believe Gordon has done something similar. Gord, is it easy toautomate or is it all "grunt work". I suspect that SONAR or Sound Forge have some tools for this kind of job. I have two wav files that I want to import into Sonar. They are recordings of the same event, one done directly into Sonar, the other done with my r-09 recorder. Is there a sexy way of synching up the output other than selecting one and nudging it until it sounds right?
