I know your intentions are good, but your advice
here is not. A DAW is software, not hardware.
Alternatives to Sonar would be software such as
Reaper or Samplitude on Windows, or Logic and ProTools on Mac.
It sounds like you are talking about audio
interfaces below, which are hardware.
