Subject: [ddots-l] Tranzport and Sonar 8.

Heyo all. I was wondering if anybody else was having this problem? I've got the latest sonar 8 producer, 8.3.1 or whatever it is, pretty sure that's right. When I use tranzport, two things happen. One is that it tends to read a lot of extraneous junk when I have it set to read changes with the second option turned on in the track pain options, by hitting f4. For instance, I deleted some extra junk off the ends of a couple tracks, and while tabbing through the delete dialogue to set things up correctly, it would suddenly read out things like "bar zero, zero, zero" and "jaws control surface alive", etc.

The more annoying problem however is that sonar doesn't seem to want to close correctly, it still shows up in the task manager. Yay zombie sonar! I'm pretty sure I have it set to not show midi activity in the task bar, because I know that caused a lot of issues before. Yep, I just looked, and that box is unchecked. However while I was going through, it was reading "control surface bank" and reading the menus across the top of the screen, file, edit, etc. I just turned the control surface changes speaking thing off and closed it again and when it finally goes away I'll see if that makes a difference. So if anybody has any ideas for what's going on and how to solve it, I'd appreciate anything you can come up with.

On the bright side, I gotta thank Phil for his excellent little Sonar FAQ, adding those lines to the .ini file got tranzport working beautifully and it took me about ten minutes to clip the extra stuff off the end of a couple tracks, we talked before it stopped recording, with a combination of the tranzport and keyboard. Now I have to learn tranzport because I'm pretty sure I could have done all of it with the tranzport, setting from and through times and selecting the track and all that. I think I'm really gonna like it, it's a bit nicer than working with the keyboard in some ways, and far more portable than my wireless keyboard. I also want to thank everybody on this list, whether you've directly answered one of my many! questions or not. (smile) I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere with this stuff. Don't worry though, I'm sure I'll have more questions, so if you haven't hit something you could answer yet, your time will come! (grin)
