Annabelle,

If you have two printers, and two computers it's even easier than a server.

Just have each computer on the network, attach one printer to each computer,
and allow sharing of each printer. Then as long as both computers are on, you
can use either printer from either computer.

If you ever do turn off one of the computers, then you should put that printer
on the computer that always stays on, or go back to having a printer server
connected to your network.

That's exactly what I mean. Will it be able to share two USB-Powered Printers
as well?

Do a search on amazon for kvm switcher.

I'm interpretting your meaning as being able to share a keyboard mouse and
monitor between two computers.

  Cheers

  Annabelle,

For USB you don't use a switch, you use a powered hub. That expands the
number of ports.

I don't understand your need for a serial port for the monitor. A monitor
does not use a serial RS-232 port, it uses a special 15-pin connector
configuration. For that, you can purchase a special switch, but don't buy a
"serial port" switch. Buy a video monitor switch.

    Hi, it's Annabelle.
Does anybody know where I can find an A&B Switch that supports both USB and
Serial Ports? The reason why I ask is because I'm eventually going to purchase
the Rockbox I7 from PC Audio Labs, and my monitor is powered by a serial port
connection. Also, I'm going to hook up my computer keyboard, my mouse, and both
my printers to the USB ports. Does anybody have any suggestions for me?
