Mike, thanks for your review of this gadget from Yamaha. I believe it is
actually called the AG06. Anyone who is itching to order it may order from us
at Dancing Dots for $199. Just call 610-783-6692 or send an E-mail to
admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx as we do not yet have it listed on our site.

Bill

Subject: [ddots-l] yamaha sound card

Good morning every one I trust that you are all doing well on this lovely
Wednesday morning.
At any rate I wanted to let you know about a sound card that I just recently
purchased.
Its from Yamaha, and its a perfect compact mixer which will allow you to record
anything under the sound hood.
The one I am speaking of is the Yamaha g06, and this little baby has six
inputs, and has two outputs to connect to speakers, and has a head phone jack
for connecting studio quality headphones and gaming headphone jacks.
It also has a reverb, compressor for podcasting, and eq for giving you that
nice sound vocally.
The board is all knobs, and they are very easy to locate, as they are played
out in a way that you can find them with ease.
The nice thing about this mixer is that it is USB bus powered and work
natively with your Mac, and you can install yamaha drivers for Windows 8.51, 7,
and Windows 10.
Finally this is what sold me on this mixer audio card.
There is a hardware switch which allows you to do do three settings.
The first setting away from you allows you to record sounds, using a dry
signal, The second position allows you to record your inputs with effects that
come with the unit, and the third setting, and hang on to your seat Yes, allows
you to loop back your signal allowing you to pick up any computer sound, and
input sound you can throw at it.
The compact mixer is very compact, and sturdy, and costs round $200.00 at that
price I couldn’t resist to pick up three of them lol.
Finally you are able to with the camera kit hook up this audio to your iPad.
The only draw back to this board is the control panel which allows you to do
deeper editing with its onboard effects, however what card do you know out
there that gives straight out of the box accessibility to its control panel.
Regardless, I am currently dealing with Yamaha tech support here in Canada in
hopes of reaching out to Yamaha to see what they can do.
Oh yeah one more thing it does come with a small version of Cubases which we
all know is not that accessible, however you are able to use this unit with
Sonar on the PC, and music softwares on the Mac.
Forgot to also mention that you are able to control the loop back sound with
its own dedicated volume control.
In short I’d recommend this card if you are doing pod casts, and want something
that is simple to use with out the hassle of going in to the control panel to
fool around with routing ETC.
Its too bad they don’t make a bigger version, however and nope I haven’t tried
this yet I suppose I could connect all three of mine to give me 18 inputs and 6
outputs lol if I really wanted to.
At any rate hoping this information helps you all.
