Does this mean that an imported wave or mp3 file can be made to fit into a sonar project- to match the bpm etc. like an acidized loop would?

Are you using sonar 6? If you are, you can have sonar's tempo match the audio file so that your measure/beat boundaries will fit the material you import. I do this all the time for the kind of work I do. You do this by using the set measure and beat function when you cue up to specific beats in the imported material. Currently you need to access this dialog by first doing a jaws pass through (jaws insert with 3 on the number row) and then control M.

i have an mp3 that i need to work with in sonar.
how can i import it?
i can import on any audio track, but how can i make it fade to tempo?
i need to  devided it into mesures.
