There's an edit field in the general tab of the global options dialogue.  Just 
enter the number of seconds you want to audition for.  Don't set it for too 
long since it seams to take a long time preparing the audition otherwise.  I 
rather foolishly set it to 20 seconds once and could have made a cup of tea 
while I waited to hear a pitch shift
