I have a TC Helicon VoiceLive 2. This has got to be the ultimate vocal
processor out now, and it is completely accessible, if you can operate menus
from notes. I have notes for all of the menus.

You plug a mic directly in to it, and the output can be recorded directly in to
Sonar.

The input stage cleans up the incoming signal from the mic with a de-esser, a
gate, a compressor, and an EQ. The unit has automatic calibration functions
that will set these up for you, your mic, and your voice. If you don't know how
to use these tools really well, a box like this can be fairly close to an
automatic engineer for your vocals. They come out sounding very produced.

Once the vocals are cleaned up, you can process them through an automatic pitch
corrector (just like auto-tune). It has automatic scale settings, or you can
program your own (all accessible). For vocals, it also has cool transducer
effects that let you sound like you're talking through phones, loud speakers,
etc.

Of course, the core of the VL2 is an 8 voice harmonizer, and a second 4 voice
doubler/virtual multitracking effect. The harmonizer can generate up to 8 part
background vocals based on listening to incoming music, or you can control it
directly by playing your keyboard in to it over MIDI. You can also set the
harmonizer to a single voice mode, control it with MIDI, and have a version of
the autotune/hard-tune effect that is keyboard controlled.

The VL2 has lots of other stuff: built-in independent effects units for
modulation/phase, reverb, delay, formant shifters for all 12 virtually
generated voices, independent compression/eq/reverb/mod for a separately
connected guitar, and others.

It costs about $800.

The Boss VE20 vocal effect pedal will do auto tune. it is a double pedal stomp
box and on top of auto tune pitch correction it also has good reverb, delay and
can create vocal harmonies in stereo. It's only $250 and works very well. I
bought one about a month ago.

The roland VP 7 will also do auto tune pitch correction, reverb and delay, as
well as vocal harmonies. the Roland VP 7 is midi capable as well. It can be
patched into your keyboard and will do both vocoder and talk box simulation as
good as anything else I've ever come across. It costs about $600.

There are tons of Youtube videos on both the boss VE 20 pedal and The Roland VP
7 vocal processor.

Hi annabell!
I don't think so, but you may do a google search for it and see if there's
someone who has one left.

Is Sonovox still available? If so, where can I find it?

        Hi there!
well, the talkbox is not like sono vox, sono vox was the older version
of sonovox, the talk box has a tube which you put in to your mouth.

He vocoder you're talking about here is the good old TalkBox.
they can be found on ebay or musicstores.
                hope this helps.

So, what's the vocoder that I'm thinking of? I know
it's the kind that is featured in music from artists like Zapp and Roger. But
what's the name, and where can I find it?
