[ddots-l] backing up MIDI from an external device

Hi has anyone on the list used Sonar to backup files from a drum machine or any
other external devices. I have a Dr670 drum machine and would like to transfer
files created in it to Sonar for backup so that I can clear the memory and
create another set of songs. I know how to send and receive from the Dr670 but,
I have never used Sonar's Transmit function. Does anybody know the steps for
this process in Sonar 4.0? Robert.
