Wonder if anyone has any experience with trying other tubes in Rode K2 or
something similar. It uses a 6922 type tube in it and have heard many people
often using slightly better quality tubes to warm the sound even more than its
stock tube. Wonder what other tubes might sound good in it. I know that it is
important to only replace worth 6922 style tubes from what I've read, but know
there are a few makers and perhaps one may be better than another for mic
preamps. Have seen where prices can be drasticly different so before shelling
out $85 for a ventage tube from 60s, I am hoping to find someone who has tried
a few and knows if a big difference between one and another; say a good old
tube from 50s and 60s or newer stock and what maker might be better. Have heard
amperex mentioned as a good one to check as well as Mullard???? maybe wrong
spelling. Any suggestions appreciated oh wize ones. Dave
