Jim,
Open Sonar, go to 'Options' then 'Global'. Look for 'Audio Data'. Tab
down the row until you get to 'On startup Load Normal Template'. Make
sure this is unchecked. Then hit 'okay.'

sheet with no tracks.
I had a look on the manual but couldn't quite find out how to do this.
