I actually have this same problem with selection you've mentioned. It seems to only happen after I take focus from the main Sonar window and then bring it back again.

Just recently I've managed to run across an odd thing where in the midi event view, CT will report numbers to me when I'm in the note name column. Though this was after a crash so maybe this recent thing was because of that. LOL

As for the selection thing I never have been able to figure that one out. The only way I can get round it is to use the comma hotkey to select one track at a time between from and through. I am running Sonar 8.5.3 and if I'm not mistaken, that's what ended up being installed with the discs I bought. Though it's been a while since initial installation (three years maybe four) so I'm not sure if I installed the patches or if it was already up to date from the discs. I thought the selection problem was because of the fact that my screen resolution is at 1018/758 but then in an earlier post, Brian said that it was only the vertical number, the 768 one that you needed to worry about where it was at. For now I can work round the issues, apart from today's strangeness, and things work out all right. Thinking of restarting the system to see if that fixes stuff from the crash. Otherwise I might just have to port everything over to a new project file. I hear things sometimes get corrupted during a crash and that copying midi events/basic audio clips can sometimes fix issues.

Anyway hope that helped a little bit. Maybe we can both find out a bit of new info?

Most Sincerely,

Bobbi

The restore fixed it for a little while, but about ten minutes later the
problem was back. One thing I forgot to say is that before the problem with
the clips pain started, I was having problems inserting from and through
times. I would set the from and through and then I would select the track
but instead of selecting between my from and through points the track would
be selected from beginning to end. After a few minutes of this then the
clips pain problem began. This happened both before and after the restore.

May the Peace of God which passes all understanding guard your heart and
mind in Christ Jesus. God bless you!
