Ivan,

you've done a great job with this song.
It's a strange arena you put yourself in when asking other producers to judge your song as everyone will have there personal choices. If this track had been on a compilation CD I would have listened to it without the critical ear and enjoyed it for what it is, (a great song that has a Fantastic hook)

If we take the Michael Jackson song Billie Jean, I always thought the bass synth was too quiet, one day I was at a venue where there was a Michael Jackson tribute performer. His Billie Jean backing track had a bass synth that was the same as the record but more noticeable in the mix, the track didn't sound right at all.

What I'm clumsily trying to say is, don't lose your ideas, just take little notes from the suggestions we give on this list and add some of them to your original ideas.

Thanks for your feedback all,

I wanted to ask you a question regarding the technical aspects and
regarding the panning of each track:

I worked the panning as best as possible, given that this is left to
ones criteria and I don’t know how good are my criteria at this point.

To tell you the truth I don’t feel that good about how I panned the
tracks because I felt like I did not know what exactly I was doing.

If you had the below track content, how would you theoretically pan the
tracks?

Vocals: is there an ideal for panning vocals (Omar and Daren)? Left?
Right? Center?

Beginning pad: Omar I don’t know how to change from mono to stereo, if
it is not too much to ask, can you direct me to the manual or let me
know if it is not too much trouble?

Drums: should all the percussion in a drum set be panned to the same
side. Kick, snare, high hats, etc, left right center??

Electric bass: where should an electric bass is ideally placed in the
arrangement, given the panning of vocals, drums, keys etc)

Piano:

Strings:

Distorted guitar lead:

All feedback is well apriciated!

Ivan

I just listened to it on headphones, the vocals didn't sound like they were
panned to the left. I think it sounds pretty cool. The only thing I might
point out is that the keyboard rift that starts the song off should perhaps
be stereo. It sounds mono.
