It sounds like something is wrong with your configuration between the
outputs of your sound card and your mixer. What are you using for a sound
card and mixer? You might want to try lowering the trim pots (if you have
them) on the inputs where your sound card is pluged in.

I am using sonar version 4.2 with jaws 5.1. I have recently noticed when the track is armed and I am recording audio the input meters when I use F2 are reading in the area of minus 0.2 to -2.5. However, when eyeunarm the track it reads about plus three to plus five and sounds distorted. It sounds like an analog distortion, not a digital distortion. When I record at a much lower level, it does not distort and reads better on the meters, but, the volume is very soft in regard to other recorded tracks. This seems like a fairly new phenomenon.
