[ddots-l] how to make a vocal studder

Hi list if i record an audionote from persons voice. Working in Sonar
Producer 8.5.
Next i want to take audio i just recorded.
I then would open up audio snap.
Next i would transform audio note in to midi note in audio snap.
Then i would take midi note from audio snap.
Next i would coppy new midi note from audio snap in to STEP SEQUENCER i think?.
Last i bring a tool called THE STEP SEQUENCER to asined certon times i
needed note to be triggerd?.
Is that all capeable for making a vocal studder listed above?.
I understand there's other ways in with a gate i looked up a youtube
video i did not like the way gate was responding
