Chris, thank you so much for contacting me in the early days of testing. I suggested to Chris and all involved that Tim Burgess and Victor Tsaran were added to the beta testing team. Special credit, must go out to Victor Tsaran for answering a lot of the technical questions that the development team over at Ozone were asking. I don't personally think we would have seen this announcement come out so quickly, had Vic not provided them with the answers that they required so quickly. Importantly their CTO, Jeremy Todd, was and still is enthusiastic about adding accessibility to their product line. Chris, I intend to continue working with the team over at Ozone on this. Thanks again! I am both shocked and pleased at this public statement from iZotope Inc. These guys deserve our praise, an award or two and lots of publicity within the blind musician community. Most of all, they deserve lots of encouragement to continue to include us when designing new products. Not just that, they deserve our full participation in testing their accessible product builds - you'll read more about that in the below press release. Phil, Tim and others who were in contact, along with myself, with iZotope's Jeremy Todd, Chief Technology Officer, thank you for participating in the early dialogues that lead to this. and, don't stop now! I hope you are still at least experimenting with those demo builds of RX and Ozone, and noting any anomalous behavior for Mr. Todd. Or, send any reports to me and I'll forward them along. Text of the press release follows, and please distribute this far and wide. PRESS RELEASE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Music Technology Leader's Products Will Now Support Screen Reader Software January 18, 2010 iZotope, Inc. has announced the scheduled release of product updates to support accessibility software for the visually impaired. Available for download by the end of Q1 2010, the updates will significantly expand the information made available to accessibility software interfacing with their programs. This endeavor is closely related to iZotope's 2010 Education Initiate. The Initiative will support music education by donating software to classrooms around the world. iZotope has made supporting the community a top priority for the upcoming year. "iZotope software has become an industry standard, and that means it's time to commit to universal access," says CTO Jeremy Todd. "We plan to do this with the help of the visually impaired community itself, so we invite users of screen readers to contact us for more information or to get involved." The forthcoming product updates will allow commonly used screen reader programs to work with iZotope's software on both Mac and PC platforms. iZotope also noted that this support is a long term commitment and will be incorporated into all subsequent releases of products and updates. Users interested in testing the accessibility updates may contact support@xxxxxxxxxxx for more information. Advance copies of the updates will be available upon request.
