in ct 5.3 you can hit f4 while in the sfz properties window. this will open 
a menu and you can open a wav file and just play it.
of course you need to insert  sfz in the synth rack or by selecting sfz 
synth from the insert menu.

you can insert many instances of sfz but if you freeze the tracks you will 
not run out of cpu resources.
