Brian, much more important than what plug-ins you are using is:
What monitors are you using and in what sort of room? If the
monitors are full range and in a properly treated room, your
results will be much better than with poor monitors in an untreated
room. You can have every plug-in available and if you're not
hearing things accurately, it won't matter!
that said, Brainworx in Germany are the kings of M/S processing,
what you call stereo enhancement. Also, check out Slate Digital
FG-X. It's a transparent mastering compressor, transient shaper,
and excellent limiter all in one.
