Well as I said Herman, this is all really dependent on how Tascam have implemented the Mackie mode. They have a reputation for not doing this right hense, that's why if you load up the unit in Mackie mode and use the Mackie control surface that ships with Sonar, you will discover that you aren't actually able to do that much in fact, less than you can do in native mode.

How so Phil? You are suppose to be able to make selections from the unit using the Mackie emulation. You can't do that in Native. I remember being told that Native is better but don't remember why.

Phil replied: it depends how much Tascam have implemented the Mackie protocol. I seem to remember reading the documents on this and at least at a glance, it looks to me like you can do way more with the native implementation.
