If you're talking about the trapezoid-shaped ones that come in either
two- or three-pronged versions, either straight or right-angle
connectors, they're a dime a dozen at any Radio Shack or electrical
supply place. Walk down Main Street in your own town and find a
hardware store or electrical supply store. They even come in various
wire thicknesses to handle greater or lesser amounts of power. Oh
yes, just because it's just a computer you're plugging in, don't think
these things don't need to carry a lot of power. A computer with a
750-watt power supply shouldn't use a thin cord with #18 wire in it. I
had this brought rudely to my attention many years ago when a computer
with two 500-watt power supplies powering six SCSI drives and two tape
drives was noticeably warmer than its neighbors. The plug was not
exactly what I would have called hot, but definitely overheating. I
immediately swapped the cord with another much thicker heavier-duty
one. It never heated, and I even noticed a little better system
performance. The cooling fans didn't change speed when the system got
busy after the cord swap, and my wife told me the front-panel lights
were brighter and didn't dim and fluctuate during periods of high disk
activity.
