And do you have all the motif output ports selected in the instruments option?

No I do not get sound from tracks which the inputs and outputs are assigned
to the xs.
And yes the audio engine is on.

Do you get sound from tracks which the inputs and outputs are assigned to
the xs? Also, have you checked if your audio engine in sonar is on when you
load the project? I have no idea why, but sometimes, loading softsynths or
re-starting a project tends to turn off the audio engine. At least that's what
happens with me.

        Hi everyone,

I am using Sonar producer 7 and the Motif xs.

In the past, I have used the xs as a midi controller using the xs USB
midi
        port.

Recently, I can not get the xs to function as a controller. Sonar
recognizes the xs as a midi device. The xs 1 2 3 and 4 ports are in
the
midi input and output box under midi devices.

But when I try to control a softsynth, I get no sound from the
softsynth
(and this was from an already existing project where it worked before
and I
had already recorded midi data using the xs). Even when I try to do an
all
midi project using the XS, I get no sound when I have the xs set to
local
        off.

I uninstalled the Yamaha USB midi drivers and then reinstalled.

        But still nothing.

Is there something else I could check either on the XS or the computer
to
        get this working again?

        Thank You
