No ignorance at all Steve with your assessment.
The reason I shied away from the 32 bit version was I have had trouble getting 32 bit plugins to show up. I don't know if it was BitBridge, or JBridge or what ever. I had followed all instructions, but couldn't get the plugins to show in Sonar.
I hadn't tried getting the 32 bit plugins to show up for a while, so this evening I thought I would give it a try again. And what do you know, no problems!
So I got MR Ray, and I thank you guys for the great recommendation. Think I'll go load up my waves plugins now...

Please forgive my ignorance but can't you use 32 bit when set to 64? That to me is like a DVD player not being able to play CDs. 
I do find all this computer lark odd.
Regarding MR Ray I'm with Phil, it's excellent. especially if you have two of them set up and slightly flatten one and add chorus to the one that's set to pitch, it's brilliant.

MrRay .vst plug-in.  It's the best!
