Have you tried to uninstall JFW and then reload?

Also, it might be a conflict with an audio driver and I seam to remember that
there was a compatibility issue with Tascam FW1884., of course I am sure you
have tried all of this, but, just wanted to help if possible, because I know
how it is when you have a project due and something goes wrong!

  Subject: [ddots-l] serious computer/jaws/sonar problem!

Hi everybody I need to finish up a project for somebody and something has
gone very wrong with my machine. I need help ASAP! I've been fighting with
this for hours but it's right back to where it was before.

I was working in sonar all of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning. I took
a break on Saturday and shut the machine down. When I restarted it, jaws was a
little shaky. I opened sonar and armed a track. I went into record and about
three bars into it, the machine just shuts off! And the fan works by the way.
I haven't ran into any cooling issues in the 3 years I've had her.

Now, I start the machine up again and nothing happens. After over five
minutes, jaws starts automatically, but starts many many times! And when I try
to close it, it opens it again. Like it's stuck in a loop. So I shut it down
and restarted again. Now when I go into sonar, which takes a long time to
load, I can't play any audio. It just won't have it.

I've ran noadware and reg scrub. Symantec didn't find anything, I haven't
been on the internet or downloaded anything in a couple of days.

Right now, I am only running jaws and outlook and jaws is responding slow,
over 2 seconds behind.

Here's the machine specs just in case anybody wants them, Del laptop, 2.4
gigahertz Pentium 4, 1gig ram, 60gig internal hd, win xp pro, sonar 4.04, jaws
6, the latest cake talking scripts for this version, 500 gig USB2 external hd,
Tascam FW1884.

Also, as a side note, when I hit the control panel button on the Tascam,
nothing happens, but, if I go into the control panel folder and open it that
way, it opens after around ten seconds.

I left it off overnight for nine hours so I don't' think it's an overheating
issue. The fan is running but not at full tilt.

Any advice on fixing this would be much appreciated!

  Thanks,

  Cameron.
