That's right. I forgot to think about MIDI format 1 vs. 0. Kevin, that will
do it, as long as each stave is a different channel, as you have noted.

MIDI format1 I believe saves each track to a separate channel automatically,
midi format0 doesn't. But even then, some players take the format0 and
temporarily convert it to format 1 to use it as indevidual tracks, and then
they resave it as format0.
What exactly are you trying to do? I used sonar for my music theory courses,
to record instruments then edit them in the event view and then print out
for other musicians to perform my compositions.

Well, according to Konakt, which I can see, the MIDI channels are one and 2
for Keyboard A and B. The problem I'm having is both with Sibelius and
Sonar. I don't know how to export a Sibelius file as MIDi on two channels,
and I don't know how to import MIDi into Sonar so that the two staves come
in on two different channels. Any ieas?

K,

All I can suggest is to add two keyboard staves to the score. Then delete
the bass clef from one and the treble clef from the other. Then cut/paste
the relevant parts to the two separate staves. Then export. That should give

you the separate tracks.

If we had access to the mixer and MIDI channel parameters we might have
been able to do this by assigning a different MIDI channel to each of the
grand staff staves.

Guys,
Part of the reason I'd like to have separate channels is because my
Sonar pianos, Ivory, sound better than Kontakt does. If I could export the
score I have to a two track MIDI file and edit it in Sonar, I'd like to
reimport it so that it came in on two staves without having to factor in a
split point since that's floating. Thanks for any help. Kevin
