Hi, since you have a quad capture, I would recommend uninstalling asio for all (unless you really need it), and use your interface's native asio drivers. Download the latest and give that a try after uninstalling asio for all... The quad capture is in the list of audio devices, but I can't check or uncheck it to make it the default record and play back device. Infact, the only thing I can check or uncheck in my audio devices list is the acio 4 all v 2. But sonar's telling me that it's not connected. -----Original Message----- From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of D!J!X! Try this: If you set something like winamp or windows media player to use the quad, do you get sound out of it? Note that in media player, when you switch the device you'll need to close and reopen the program for settings to take effect. If you don't hear sound from media player or winamp when doing this, it could be your speakers, a connection on the card, or something else gone wrong with the card. If you can hear sound, then start sonar, check the options>audio devices settings, is the card listed as the master output and input devices? Note that sometimes sonar wil set it to, specially if you started sonar without the unit plugged in or turned on. Check and see if the card is even on the list. Check that and get back with results. Hi folks. I've started having issues with the playback engine in sonar today. At present, the prime sound card which I have assigned to sonar is the Roland QuadCapture audio interface. And until today it seemed to be working fine. But today, I coulden't get anything to play back. It wasen't playing the metronome, it wasen't playing back any audio or midi nothing. Can any one recommend any tips for me to fix this problem? Cheers, Nick. -----Original Message----- From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Efren Chavez Sent: 20 August 2013 04:30 To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: Matrix View Yes, that's possible. download Bryan Smart's podcast from www.dancingdots.com and forward till you get to the part where he talks about the matrix view. He did an excellent job demonstrating the matrix view. You can then read the tutorial to get a better idea of how to do it. Lastly you can experiment with it and you will understand it. The matrix view is organized into columns and cells wich you can add audio to them. You can trigger entire columns and swop out cells with a different loop or nothing. Note, you can also coppy and paste. For example record 4 bars of a drum beat and paste it over where you want it. If you change your mind and don't want it in the beginning just cut it out. I typically start with the hook/corus where a lot of activity is going on with all instruments. Then I decide how I want the intro and build the track to the corus by taking certain elements of the song out and moving to proper location. That is how I start, and of cource get more ideas and improvise here and there.
