Hi, you have to set the midi track's output to the correct synth, set the
chanel the synth expects, and even perhaps select the instrument, in the case
of a multitimberal synth. Unless you just set all the tracks to a certain
channel, say channel 10, then they will all share the same sound.

Hello,
Thanks your help. I did what you describe, in Sonar, selected a track. Input a
drum midi file and then press control F1. Then choose split notes. And I
selected source track, destination track, channel and port. And then my entire
sixteen midi track is exactly same as track one. But, only track one can play
the drum pattern. The other entire 15 track doesn’t play anything. Even I press
ship with Z to unmute and un-solo it still no play still play track one. When I
use event view all track two to track sixteen all the notes are there and
exactly same as track one.
Did I done something wrong?

IN Sonar select rack and
go to edit or process, and run cal script. Then select the split notes to
tracks script.

Subject: [ddots-l] split midi file
Happy New Year All,
I’m trying to split the note
from a drum midi file. For example, in this midi file has several different
notes, such as C3, E-3, and etc. I use event view to delete what I don’t want
to keep and remain C3. Then I save this file for drum kit midi file. And
continue next note keep E-3, and then delete all the other notes, save this
midi file. This is a very stupid manual way to one by one to split each note,
so can I put these notes in a different track to do master mixing? Does anyone
know any other better way to split this midi file?
