That's correct - Vista support crept in at the back end of the V8 cycle and SP1 definitely breaks it. Best wishes. I have had two computer under Vista service pack 1, and both different brand of machines, and I've had to upgrade to Jaws 9. Infact Freedomscientific has stated to me that you will definatly need to upgrade Jaws to 9.0 or hier if you are using Vista service pack1, and this was over a year ago. In my centre I've had also had machine using Xp service pack 3, and in those cases depending on whatcomponents are used in the unit we've also had to upgrade Jaws to version 9, as for some unexplical reason the clients unit would not longer function, and even after uninstalling Jaws 8, and re installing the problem did not go away until I actually installed version 9 of Jaws. Hope this helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tim Burgess" <tim@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, March 16, 2009 2:47 PM Subject: [ddots-l] Re: windows 7 > Hi, > > Can't comment on the other components, but Jaws 8 is a minimum requirement > for Vista, so I don't think you're going tog et away with Jaws 7 for its > successor. > > > Best wishes. > > Tim Burgess > Raised Bar Ltd > Phone: +44 (0)1827 719822 > > Don't forget to vote for improved access to music and music technology at > > http://www.raisedbar.net/petition.htm > > -----Original Message----- > From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] > On > Behalf Of sam > Sent: 16 March 2009 14:14 > To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [ddots-l] windows 7 > > hi everybody!!! > i'm wandering if jaws 7 with sonar 8 and cake talking are well compatible > with windows 7 or not? > any information will be appreciated > regard > > Sam > > PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE! > To leave the list, click on the immediately following link: > ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe > If this link doesn't work then send a message to: > ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > and in the Subject line type > unsubscribe > For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the immediately > following link: > ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq or send a message, to > ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and in the Subject line type faq > > > PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE! > To leave the list, click on the immediately following link: > ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe > If this link doesn't work then send a message to: > ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > and in the Subject line type > unsubscribe > For other list commands such as vacation mode, > click on the immediately following link: > ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq or > send a message, to > ddots-l-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > and in the Subject line type > faq > PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
