Hi Gary, Good question. So let's hope I'm not teaching granny to suck eggs here, but it may help others. When you open the .dxp file, go into Coded View. This is done by holding down the Alt key, and tapping the F3 key. This is what's called a "toggle" function, so repeating the keystrokes will return you to normal view. This is the same as going into DBT's View Menu and selecting Codes. Now all being well, the second line down this file will show you an [rfs] Code at the start, and then the text "Your name or company" and end with the Code [rfe]. The [rfs] and [rfe] codes tell the text in between them that this is a Footer which is to appear on all pages. To make you own Footer, simply change the text between these Codes. However, there are some considerations. First, your page is 31 characters wide, and there is a default setting of 8 cells of what is called "Side Room" on either side of the Footer in braille. So normally you would only get 15 braille characters. So what is "Side Room" anyway? It is simply the space that is allowed for page numbering. But if you look at the first line of the file, you will see an [svrfs4:4] Code, which in effect says, "make the Side room" only 4 characters on each side, and so allows us to have a Footer line of up to 23 braille characters. I think I'm also right in saying that both Footers and Headers, cannot occupy more than 2 lines, so bear that in mind. And of course that will mean you have more than the 9 lines I designed the document to be. All the best, George. -----Original Message----- From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gary Metzler Sent: Friday, December 14, 2007 7:46 PM To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] Re: 2008 Calendar Hi George, Nice job on the calendar. I have a question. I am not a dbt power user. I see that you have a footer on the bottom of the page. How can I change that to reflect my information? I am using dbt 10.5 windows xp home sr2. You will probably need to do some modification to it locally, and certainly for American English, you'll need to copy and paste the contents of the .dxp file into a new document using your local template. I have the Document: Embosser setup set to 31 characters per line, and 9 lines per page, which when trimmed down, results in a neat almost pocket sized book. There are a few interesting Codes in the document, and I think it's a reasonable example of setting tabs or columns up. I hope I've got the dates in the right columns, but please don't hit me if I've made any mistakes. Any questions, just ask.
