Hi Bertha, Don't worry. Lots of us here are still learning, especially me! For a detailed explanation, go to Help: Help Topics: Codes, Styles & Templates: Codes: Emphasis. Also see "Manually Inserting Codes" although I've explained below. To enter or delete a Code, place your cursor where you wish underline to begin. I suggest you then press Alt + F3 to View Codes (Or select "Codes" from the "View" menu) Now hold down Ctrl and press left square bracket "[". In the dialog that pops up, type the Code - for example fts~u and press Enter or OK. You will see a the code appear in your text. Place your cursor when you wish the emphasis to finish. Press Ctrl + [ again and type the Code fte~u and press Enter or OK. This Code will now appear. Press Alt + F3 again, which will toggle your codes off, and all being well (in DBT 10.6 & 7 anyway) you will see your text underlined. George.
