In addition to Braille Blaster there is an Italian piece of software ‘promoted‘
via Index Embosser official website:
Biblos 5.
I’ve tested Braille Blaster in GNU/Linux (ZorinOS 12) and it works fine. Biblos
5.20 will only work on Windows – Windows 10 reports it as a virus probably
because it does not have a signature.
Neither are as refined as DBT – that goes without saying, but for people on
tight budgets and no time to raise funds they are useable pieces of software,
and have UEB translation tables but no learning tables.
Have tested both out using an Index Everest Embosser V3.0.

Subject: [duxuser] Any Open Source Substitute for DBT?
Hi Duxuser list mates? How are you?
I have a query and hope somebody over here will be able to help me out.
I'm in search of an open-source braille editing and translation software
program which could serve as a substitute for the Duxbury Braille Translator
(DBT).
Is there any open-source substitute for the DBT, just as NVDA is an open-source
substitute for JAWS?
Regards.
Saaqib
