Robert, many of us are required by our employers to set up out-of-office
auto-replies when we're not going to be picking up e-mail. The program I
use sends the auto-reply once to each message sender. It's the best I
can do; I strongly recommend the delete button. The subject line should
say that it's an auto-reply; delete without opening.

    Something I gotta mention here concerning this subject.  I totally
do 
not believe either of these have a place on ANY mailing lists and wish 
people would disable them.  They are fine off list.  So so annoying to
get 
emails that has to be scrutinized only to find out they are nothing.
