.brl and .brf are essentially the same thing--just glorified plain
text, except that they show braille. .brl was designed for unformatted
braille files (like those one might create on a braille notetaker)
while .brf was intended for formatted braille files (such as braille
e-books created in braille translation software). Because they are
both plain text files, you can just change the file extension if you
need to.
