Dear Friends from the Philippines You talk of a Braille Browser and then you refer to the interface with the Braille Embosser. This seems perhaps inconsistent to me, so I think that I need some more information to answer your question. I am happy for you to write to me off the list at wjolley@xxxxxxxxxxx and then I will be able to give you both technical information and practical advice. I have lots of experience with producing Braille with the DOS and Windows versions of the Duxbury Translator, and with various Braille Embossers. I have produced Braille professionally, as well as for my personal needs. I live in Melbourne, Australia, but have worked with Braille production in other countries as well: Kenya, Viet Nam and Fiji. Generally the Braille Embosser takes care of the transliteration of print characters into Braille characters, so you do not normally need to worry about this. The common Braille Embossers, soled in Europe, North America and Asia, have user-selectable tables for specific Braille codes. Perhaps there are languages and dialects in the Philippines which use accented characters - I don't know - but I guess that mostly you use the Roman Alphabet which makes life much easier for Braille codes! You can write to me offline and I'm sure that we can sort out your problems quite easily. I look forward to hearing from you.
