Hello,
I have a mathematical question regarding DBT from a student who's using a pdf file provided by my company.

I have been using Scientific Notebook in conjunction with Duxbury to translate the LaTeX files that Scientific Notebook produces into nemith braille.  However, I am taking calculus this semester at my local community college and the math department there uses a program called Math Type, a program which inserts graphical equations into Microsoft Word documents, to produce work sheets and other material.

My professor has been emailing me all of the work sheets that we will be using this semester which are in Microsoft Word format so that I could get a head start brailing everything.  I noticed that Math Type has a great option to convert all of the equations in a word document into TX equations such as LaTeX.  Since LaTeX is the same file format that Scientific Notebook uses, I figured Duxbury would translate these files with no problem, but when I convert the equations to text and then try to open it in Duxbury, it either won't open it at all or else it displays all of these weird symbols.  For example, in TX language, I believe frac is the code for fraction, but instead of simply translating it into a fraction sign in braille, I actually see the word frac written out with a bunch of weird symbols written next to it.  This leads me to my questions.
1.  Can Duxbury be used with other math software besides scientific Notebook?
2.  Have you ever heard of Math Type and if so, is there a way I can get it to work with Duxbury?  If I can get Duxbury to work with Math Type, it would save me lots of time, because as it stands now I have to retype everything my professor sends me in either Scientific Notebook or braille it directly into Duxbury, both of which are very time consuming.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks so much in advance!

Thanks for any questions or suggestions you may have.
