Sue We have come up against this problem a few times and haven't found a "clever" way to do it, if someone else has I would love to hear about it too. Basically if we HAVE to do this we do a series of search and replaces for contractions, sequencing (and, the etc) but it's all very tedious and inaccurate as searches pick up extraneous things, and almost impossible to do with technical material (maths, chemistry etc). As a consequence the document requires proofreading after, it's probably easier to make the edits/changes into UEB "on the fly" while re-proofreading the doc. It would be nice to have a macro to do this but DBT doesn't have that function. Isn't it good that we now have a code that has accurate back-translation to print! We have a lot of novels/text books previously produced for students in English Braille Code, but are now and have been for a few years now, using UEB for our students, I was wondering if there is a way of changing the Duxbury braille file into UEB successfully, we haven't saved a copy of the Duxbury print file in all cases and end up with a gobbled mess when we translate back to print then into UEB. We also tried copying the print back into a word doc then back into dux. That works OK but lose all formatting and have a hard return at the end of every braille line. Any help would be appreciated.
