Hi Alan,

I should explain right away that currently in the UK under Standard English
Braille rules, we do not use full Spanish as it is used in Spanish speaking
countries.

Personally I believe we should at least teach uncontracted (Grade 1) foreign
language braille as it is used in its native country.

To achieve UK Spanish within DBT, you need to apply DBT's "Spanish" Style.

However, is you have used a Spanish Style in Word, and import that file, DBT
should automatically map to the Spanish Style.

George.

Hello dux subscribers
Can you explain to this DBT newbie why you need cheat sheets? I've just tried a
short test file using the Spanish table. All the accents, exclamation and
interrogation marks looked correct.
I did notice, though, that even in Grade One, italic strings were straddled by
dropped "i" and periods translated to dot 3. Here in the UK we wouldn't use
that system to transcribe Spanish textbooks for English students. Is it the
same for you over there? And have I answered my own question? But if so,
what's the use of DBT if you have to deal with every accent and question mark
yourself?
