To all those who are on Duxuser:

Yes, a Tutorial is a good thing. I just discovered that there is a good Tutorial about Duxbury DBT at:
http://www.e-bility.com/roundtable/guidelines-duxbury-braille-translator.php

This is in a variety of formats, including Word and pdf files.

This manual is called :
Duxbury Braille Translator Producer's Manual (2011)
It is written for braille transcribers in Australia and New Zealand.
Australia uses UEB, New Zealand uses BANA rules, just like North American Braille. So as you read it, focus on the rules for New Zealand, and fade the rules for Australia.

I would like to work on a document that lists the things that needs to be changed for an American audience. If you do download this and read through it, e-mail me privately at david@xxxxxxxxxx

This Tutorial is being issued on with a license allowing free distribution, but not allowing derivitive works. So it may be best to distribute it as is, and add an additional set of notes to help persons who are not
in Australia or New Zealand make the best of it.

We seem to have some problems about this thread.
Here is a link for a tutorial. Go download it and use it.

If you do not find this useful, then e-mail me off list about what you are looking for.

Also be aware of the documentation for Susan Christensen's Template (and the Template itself) that is part of the DBT Help System. Using these methods, you have a well defined way of controlling the braille output via style selection in the Word file.
